Las Dalias has been opened for over 60 years, what began as a road bar with a small dance floor has become a real Hippy legend on the Island. In 1954, Joan Marí started the Las Dalias adventure, initially a gathering of friends to celebrate San Carlos’ festivity but it got out of hands and grew, in those early days it was the place to celebrate weddings and the towns’ local dance hall. During the 60’s, with the arrival of more tourism, Las Dalias offered live music shows with barbecue, so in those days for just 125pesetas (under 1€) you could enjoy a Live Flamenco Show with a BBQ and plenty of Sangría to wash it down with.
In the 70s the hippies appeared and chose las Dalias as their local hang out, so after a busy day working at the Es Canar Hippy Market, they would play music and chill, that’s how the Wednesday jam sessions began and many famous musicians at the time joined in.
During the 80s, the craze for good music continued and Las Dalias gardens offered many concerts from artist from around the world that had come to record at the legendary “Estudios Mediterráneos”. Also, the mid 80s, saw the birth of Las Dalias Hippy Market and its popularity grew until becoming an Iconic figure in the History of Ibiza’s tourist evolution and cultural agenda.
During more recent years, other events take place such us Namaste, a party with a genuine hippy vibe, other nights feature Trance, art exhibitions, etc.
